Though dogs are not allowed on Siesta Key’s beaches, do not despair. This fantastic vacation spot can still be a welcoming place for your four-legged friend where they can enjoy a fun time with your family.
Christopher Wheeler Off-Leash Dog Park (1300 Old Stickney Point Rd., Siesta Key, FL) is probably the best place on Siesta Key to let your four-legged travel companion blow off some steam and socialize with other pups, local and visiting.
Boyd Park (4300 Midnight Pass Rd., Siesta Key, FL) is located a little over a mile north of Tropical Breeze Resort and offers the perfect place for leashed dogs to play with their families. Boyd Park is on the waterfront, which gives both pups and kids a chance to go for a dip and cool off.
Sarasota, Bradenton, and Venice have a multitude of other parks for both on- and off-leash pets.
A few of the options include Bird Key Beach Park (200 John Ringling Causeway Sarasota, FL), and Centennial Park (1105 10th St, Sarasota, FL) and Bayfront Park (Marina Jack Trail, Sarasota, FL) in Sarasota, all of which welcome leashed pets.
Toward the south, Venice is home to the county’s only dog-friendly beach. Brohard Paw Beach (1600 Harbor Dr. S., Venice, FL) is equipped with fenced areas for large and small dogs, water fountains, and fire hydrants.
It’s a great place for owners to relax and take in some ocean views while their dogs romp in the shallows – and of course to fill your Instagram with some impressive and adorable beach photos with your pup.
